The Southern Lakes Sanctuary (SLS) is a landscape-scale conservation project with goals of protecting ecosystems and increasing populations and resilience of the 30 endangered taonga species in our region. This is a strategic marketing and communications role where skills in developing target messages and building brand stories is vital. Being passionate about conservation is essential.

Can effectively communicate science-based info to non-experts

Excellent copy writing skills
Delegates in a clear and concise manner
Fine attention to detail
Hold a current NZ driver’s licence.
Willing to spend some time in the bush and not afraid to handle dead rats!
Our project is funded through a Department of Conservation Jobs for Nature grant, which has enabled our project to take-off, success in this role will be achieved when the profile and successes of Southern Lakes Sanctuary makes it fly for many years to come!
